OSU made up ground on Alabama, but not enough to take over the #2 spot. As a result, we get LSU versus Alabama, also known as Game of the Century, Part Deux. :) OSU heads to the Fiesta Bowl to take on Stanford in what looks to be one of the most entertaining (on offense, primarily, but both claim "under-rated" defenses) bowl games of the season.

LSU, Alabama, and Arkansas do in fact appear 1-2-3 in the BCS poll. Apparently this has happened one time before, with Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Colorado being the top 3 from the Big 12. This is only the second time it has ever happened, and the first time that all 3 teams are from the same division of a conference.

In other news, LSU is currently installed as a 13.5 point favorite over Arkansas.

Wow. Alabama dropped all the way to number 3 in the polls. I didn't expect them to drop out of the top ten, necessarily, but I sure didn't expect them to remain ahead of other undefeated teams.

Hi, Randy, welcome to my blog and thanks for your comment. I'm still working on my original sandpaper discs because of several reasons. First, I'm cheap :) so I'm going to use them as long as I can. But in all seriousness, you really don't need the sandpaper discs except for the most destroyed disc surfaces so I have probably used them somewhere between 15 and 20 times. After each use I brush off the disc dust that has accumulated to prevent it from being applied to the next disc that I need to sand.

I've had the Easy Pro for well over a year now, and remain quite satisfied with the product. I have found that I can get the supplies I need (polishing pads, white and blue polish liquid) from various eBay sellers much cheaper than from the source company, so that's what I have done.

Seems that voters liked a one-loss Michigan State more than an undefeated Kansas State, and I can't say I blame them. Oklahoma remains in the top-10 in the BCS, but Wisconsin dropped all the way to 15. That seems harsh, especially since they lost to a very good Spartan team on the road. On a desperation play that ended the game. Stanford remains ahead of Clemson in the AP and USA Today but fell behind in the BCS.

What will be really interesting will be to see how far the loser of the LSU/Bama game falls. Of course it will depend on how badly they lose, but I've read more than one article that suggests maybe they do a rematch for the BCS title game. I wasn't in favor of it years ago with Michigan and Ohio State, and I'm not in favor of it now. Let them play someone else. But we'll see if that's even an issue after the season is done.

Just heard someone on ESPN suggest that LSU was the "dark horse" candidate to win the SEC West. I would be happy if he's right... but I suspect he's wrong. :) LSU has too tough a schedule to compete with Alabama and Ole Miss this year.

So in fact Alabama did leapfrog LSU into the #2 spot and garnered some first place votes along the way, at least in the AP poll. The USA Today coach's poll has LSU #2. I don't think we deserve that ranking, at least not yet. Georgia did fall to #11 when I didn't expect them to drop out of the top ten. (They're #10 in the coach's poll.)

Oklahoma is #1 in both polls, which is not surprising at all.

LSU has an open date next week which gives them time to rest and recover before going into the toughest part of their schedule. At Florida, at South Carolina, home against Georgia. They take a break against traditional opponent Tulane and then return to SEC action against Alabama. They need to win four of those five games. It's going to be tough.
