National Champions Again

LSU took on the field and won at the 2009 College World Series. I won a lunch from a coworker who attended Texas.
The Tigers finished with a 56-17 record and worked their way through the series with only one loss, and that in the best-of-three series with UT for the final. The victory ties LSU with UT for the second most CWS titles at six. Both teams trail USC who has 12, most of them from 1978 or earlier.
While browsing the wiki page I noticed a couple of outstanding statistics. Texas is in first place with 33 appearances over the years. They have six titles to show for it. On the other hand, USC has only 21 appearances but they’ve won it all 12 times for an amazing 57% conversion rate. In fact, LSU is in sixth place with 6 titles in 15 appearances for a 40% conversion. If I reduce the list to teams with more than 10 appearances then LSU is in second place. Poor Florida State; they have made it to the CWS 19 times and never won it.
