iTunes Compass
I’ve had some fun looking for matches in the song data of my iTunes library for particular words. For example, which direction is the most popular?
- North: 4 items 13.8 minutes
- East: 44 items 29. hours
- South: 86 items 6.7 hours
- West: 18 items 1.3 hours
Clearly the South is the place to be. 
What about seasons?
- Summer: 34 items 2.2 hours
- Fall: 73 items 4.8 hours
- Winter: 33 items 2.1 hours
- Spring: 24 items 1.6 hours
I know I prefer the fall season, but I didn’t realize that preference extended to my iTunes library. 
Colors?
- Red: 215 items 14.6 hours
- Orange: 3 items 10 minutes
- Yellow: 5 items 17.4 minutes
- Green: 82 items 5.5 hours
- Blue: 607 items 1.8 days (because of the “blues” no doubt)
- Indigo: 85 items 6.5 hours (yeah, I have the Indigo Girls on my iPod, deal with it
) - Violet: 2 items 13.5 minutes
How about states where I have lived?
- Washington: 1 item 5.8 minutes
- Colorado: 0 items
- Louisiana: 10 items, 38.7 minutes
- Texas: 39 items 2.2 hours
