2008-Nov 2 BCS Poll Results
I was really interested to see how the BCS poll results came out this weekend. My primary interest was to see how high Texas Tech would rise, and how far Texas would fall. In the BCS Tech is now #2 and Texas dropped to 4. I think that makes sense given how close the games were. Next week Tech gets Oklahoma State. Can they sustain the emotion that helped carry them to a victory over Texas on Saturday? We’ll find out in a few days.
Florida jumped to 5th place in the BCS. At this point, I believe that Florida will advance to the SEC title game against undefeated Alabama. I also believe that Florida will win that game. If you drop the weirdness that was the Ole Miss upset Florida has won their games by an aggregate score of 313 to 62. LSU scored 21 of those points leaving the other 41 spread out among six other teams.
Penn State has to hope for a bunch of teams to beat each other. Texas Tech can still lose to Oklahoma State or in the Big 12 championship game. I believe Alabama will lose to Florida if they both make it to the title game. It may be that the best chance Penn State has of making it to the final game is to run the table and be looking down at a bunch of one-loss teams.
My dream BCS matchup at this point? USC versus Florida. Wouldn’t that be an incredible game with the way both teams are playing at this point? Right now USC is one of the lowest ranked one-loss teams, mostly because of the lack of competition in the Pac 10 this year.
