March Madness is Upon Us
I find it strangely difficult to get much done this time of year. It seems that no matter how well I manage to ignore the college basketball season to this point, the tournament always brings out the most amazing efforts and results in some incredible stories. I have some sentimental favorites that I hope do well (Duke) and some other teams that I will root for just because of their underdog status (Georgia). I am also a biased SEC fan so I would like to see Tennessee bring it all home this year, and they seem to be the best chance from my favorite league.
Kentucky… well, having spent some time at LSU when Shaq was in the house I find it hard to root for Kentucky. But they did extend their streak of consecutive tournament appearances, as did Arizona. That might be impressive, but I don’t see them going very far this year. I wonder what LSU would have been like had Tyrus Thomas and “Big Baby” Davis stuck around for a few more years. The fact that so many college players leave early for the NBA (and who could really blame them with the big bucks waiting) that I have lost interest in college basketball over the past several years.
Until the tournament. Then I’m back, watching the games.
If I get around to it, I’ll post some picks later this week.
