New Speed Record
A new speed record was set: a production car with a documented top speed of over 250 miles per hour. Who did it? A Shelby.
No, not that Shelby, a different one.
There is an article with plenty of detail here, and pictures from the Business Week magazine here.
It’s slick looking, and slicker still through the air. NASA experts tested it up to 273 miles per hour. It has more horsepower and a higher HP / weight ratio than any other production car. Can a company that expects to produce only 50 cars a year really be called a production car? Well, I guess so.
Anyway, it’s fast.
