The “Matt” Factor
I read an interesting blog post the other day that projects that either USF or Georgia will win the next BCS championship. Why? The quarterback for USF is Matt Grothe and Georgia will start Matthew Stafford. What does that have to do with anything?
LSU won a BCS title in 2003, starting Matt Mauck at quarterback.
USC won a BCS title in 2004, starting Matt Leinart at quarterback.
LSU won a second BCS title in 2007, starting… you are starting to see the pattern, yes? … Matt Flynn.
