Happy New Year
Welcome to 2008. It’s a leap year (in case you didn’t know) so get ready for an extra day in February. Some random thoughts…
LSU has a custom video game that they use to get their quarterbacks up to speed on reading opponent defenses. We’ll see if it helps tomorrow night when LSU plays Ohio State for the BCS title.
This year probably more than any other just screams for a college football playoff. Georgia looked awesome in rolling over Hawaii, and USC is playing great ball right now. It’s a real shame that we can’t have those teams (and a few others) play through a short bracket to see who can bring it when it counts at the end of the season.
Jacksonville and Pittsburg played a great playoff game last night. Lots of turnovers made for stressful viewing if you were a fan of either team, but for an impartial observer it was quite exciting. Jacksonville ran out ahead, Pittsburg came storming back, and ultimately it came down to a forth down scramble by Gerrard to put the Jaguars in position to kick the winning field goal. I didn’t watch the Washington / Seattle game, so I don’t really have any comments on it.
I really like the 2008 options for the C6. The interior upgrade looks really nice (on pictures, anyway, I have yet to see one in person) and the engine has been fine tuned since the introduction in the C5 back in 1997. It’s probably the “sweet spot” for the current model Corvette as far as I can see.
I got a fisheye lens for myself for Christmas this year. What a fun toy. I can sit in the seat of my car and get a picture of the entire dashboard… even to the side of the car. It provides a 180 degree view. I’ll have to take some shots and post them to show what I mean; it’s certainly fun. I downloaded a plug-in for Paintshop / Photoshop that corrects the extreme curvature generated by the lens. Anybody else get something fun for Christmas?
It has been over a year since the last coat of Zaino on my car.
At some point I need to take the time to do a thorough cleaning and get back into the habit. Does Zaino deteriorate in the bottle over time? I may have to get some new stuff.
